Description

Game Name?

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Plus

Game ID? (right click the game in the game list, Properties, Info tab)

G4SJ01

MD5 Hash? (right click the game in the game list, Properties, Verify tab, Verify Integrity button)

2ad411b817c86d887b0f80a03fe8d66e

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

Trying to use Riivolution patches on GameCube games with an IPL present and Skip Main Menu disabled causes the patch to not apply.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Have The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Plus / ゼルダの伝説 4つの剣+ (Japan) in your game list.
  2. Ensure you have a Japanese IPL at Dolphin Emulator\GC\JAP\IPL.bin
  3. Go to Config -> GameCube and ensure Skip Main Menu is disabled.
  4. Install the unofficial Tetra's Trackers / Navi Tracker Translation, only available as a Riivolution patch.
  5. Right click Four Swords Plus in the game list and click "Start with Riivolution Patches..." If done correctly, the settings for TetrasTracker.xml should show up.
  6. Set the Language to English and Quick Start to Enabled, then click Start.

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

Yes. 5.0-21264

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

N/a (Feature isn't available in stable)
(Why is this even still in the template??)

If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)

[First broken version number here (if applicable)]

If your issue is a graphical issue, please attach screenshots and record a three frame fifolog of the issue if possible. Screenshots showing what it is supposed to look like from either console or older builds of Dolphin will help too. For more information on how to use the fifoplayer, please check here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer

[Attach any fifologs if possible, write a description of fifologs and screenshots here to assist people unfamiliar with the game.]

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

Intel Core i5-8400
Radeon RX 580
Windows 11 Pro 23H2

Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files, savefiles, savestates)

[Anything else here]

Since Riivolution Patches are handled in an HLE manner and aren't possible on real console, I'm not sure if there's anything to fix here. Maybe a small note on the wiki that GameCube Riivolution patches don't work with real bios.

Even if there is nothing really to "fix" here, to prevent confusion, I feel like the user clicking the Start with Riivolution Patches button should take priority and temporarily override the Skip Main Menu setting.
