Redmine Emulator - Emulator Issues #9665 (Fixed): Evdev: Extra spaces in controller names result in game ...https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/96652016-07-01T01:18:46Zphirephiren@gmail.com

Game Name?

All

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

If your controller has a string like "DragonRise Inc. Generic USB Joystick " (note the extra spaces on the end) then you can configure it, but not use it in a game.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Have a controller that reports a name with extra spaces at the end

Configure that controller in controller settings

Notice that the controller works in controller settings.

Launch a game.

Notice that the controller doesn't work inside the game.

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)

This bug affects all backends, but only evdev allows enough customizability in the name that we have seen a bug report.

This is a regression from 4.0, because the old SDL backend didn't show the proper name.

Emulator - Emulator Issues #9502 (Fixed): Melee hangs at boot when Wii-U adapter has empty ports ...https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/95022016-05-01T07:59:55Zphirephiren@gmail.com

Game Name?

Super Smash Bros: Melee

Game ID?

GALE01

MD5 Hash?

67136bd167b471e0ad72e98d10cf4356

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

If an empty port of the Wii-U adapter is mapped to a controller port, Melee hangs before showing absolutely anything on the screen (not even black) until a controller is plugged in.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1) Plug Wii U adapter in
2) Configure dolphin to use the adapter for one or more ports.
3) At least one of those ports must not have a controller plugged into the adapter.
4) Start Melee
5) Nothingness

Which versions of Dolphin did you test on? Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which versions of Dolphin used to work?

4.0-9238 - Broken
4.0-9237 - Works

This is a regression from Fix netplay desync when using wii-u adapter. #3797

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

It runs games.

Emulator - Emulator Issues #9235 (Fixed): Audio Sample rate is wronghttps://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/92352016-01-08T06:10:46Zphirephiren@gmail.com

According to Extrems, the GameCube is configured to a sample rate of (54000000 / 1124) Hz

This is a slight difference from the 48000 Hz we currently have (48042.7Hz)

Infrastructure - Issue #9067 (Fixed): SSL Security warning on dolp.in for android devices - Confi...https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/90672015-11-06T01:45:55Zphirephiren@gmail.com

Android (tested with Lollipop 5.1) doesn't have the "USERTrust RSA Certification Authority Root" certificate in it's trust store.

Not a really a problem as the CA has been cross signed by "AddTrust External CA Root" This works perfectly fine for dolphin-emu.org, but dolp.in isn't sending the "USERTrust RSA Certification Authority" intermediary cert with a fingerprint of eab040689a0d805b5d6fd654fc168cff00b78be3 that was signed by AddTrust.

You can check the difference between the two on SSLlabs, notice how dolphin-emu.org sends 3 certs while dolp.in sends 2.

Emulator - Emulator Issues #8966 (Questionable): Hotkey configuration is not well documented, or ...https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/89662015-09-18T05:55:35Zphirephiren@gmail.com

Could we get some better documentation on this, especially how to map controller buttons to hotkeys.
Maybe somewhere like this wiki page: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=Configuring_Controllers

Emulator - Emulator Issues #8959 (Fixed): Video dumping can't handle aspect ratio changes.https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/89592015-09-16T06:59:41Zphirephiren@gmail.com

If the aspect ratio changes while a video is recording, recording will cause a 'you have resized the window while dumping frames, nothing can be done to handle this properly, your video will likely be broken' error message.
This wasn't an issue before, as dolphin always used exactly 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratios and never change aspect unless you changed the force aspect ratio option. But now dolphin derives it's aspect ratio from VI timings and switches between 4:9 and 16:9 on the fly for gamecube games which means the aspect ratio isn't constant through the game.

Dolphin needs to pick one resolution to dump the video (probably specified by the user, as requested in #4773) and add black bars to the video when the aspect ratio doesn't match.

A workaround does exist for now, where you use the "Stretch to Window" aspect ratio option, after adjusting the window to the correct size (potentially by using the "auto resize window" option)

Infrastructure - Issue #8958 (New): Make operating system n/a less panic inducing.https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/89582015-09-16T05:55:09Zphirephiren@gmail.com

Bug submitters are panicking when they see Operating System: N/A because they think it means their issue isn't happening on an Operating System (or something)

We need to make it more clear that Operating System N/A means the issue hasn't been narrowed down to a single OS yet.

Maybe the text "Multiple/Unknown" would make things more clear.

Infrastructure - Issue #8957 (New): No auto-login (stay logged in checkbox)https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/89572015-09-16T05:38:51Zphirephiren@gmail.com

Redmine supports this by default, just needs to be enabled in the administrator options.

Running cmake with -DENABLE_PIE=FALSE creates a build that can't jit code at all.

Emulator - Emulator Issues #8619 (Accepted): Feature Request: Allow the modification of most/all ...https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/86192015-06-02T09:04:27Zphirephiren@gmail.com

Currently only a few settings can be set per game, some through properties, some through ini files.

It would be very useful to allow users to set all settings per game.

Would require a much more robust system for managing and merging settings.

Emulator - Emulator Issues #8587 (New): Video Common dumps things into the global namespacehttps://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/85872015-05-21T10:42:18Zphirephiren@gmail.com

There really should be a VideoCommon or Base namespace and the naming is ambiguous. Currently we have class definitions like this:

class TextureCache : public ::TextureCache
