Redmine Emulator - Emulator Issues #13148 (New): SimAnimals: "pointer not correctly detected in-game"https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/131482023-01-14T14:51:03Zflacs

Game Name?

SimAnimals

Game ID?

Presumably R4AE69.

MD5 Hash?

unknown, I'm creating this issue for someone else

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

I'm creating this issue for the YouTube channel "Free Emulator". They've been making ~10 minute videos for all US Wii games in alphabetic order for quite a while, so I trust them to know their way around Dolphin's options. The video description mentions this:

"[ ] Store EFB Copies to Texture Only -- This game in particular needs this setting to be turned off in order for it to detect your pointer correctly in-game. Also, I only got it to work with version 5.0... newer builds didn't do the job."

What steps will reproduce the problem?

unknown

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

yes, 5.0-1816? (previous video from 4 days earlier used 5.0-18143)

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

No, 5.0 works.

If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version?

unknown

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

AMD Ryzen 7 5700G
NVIDIA RTX 3060
Windows 10

Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files, savefiles, savestates)

Emulator - Emulator Issues #12913 (Fixed): Mouse clicks not recognized on Linux + Qt6https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/129132022-05-10T00:51:58Zflacs

Game Name?
all games

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.
Since the switch to Qt6, mouse clicks on Linux are no longer recognized in games or when configuring controllers. Our XInput2 code receives XI_KeyPress events but not any XI_ButtonPress events. It's possible that this issue is related to this change: https://github.com/qt/qtbase/commit/4f99f87578a36d59448e4332a06cdb0c8556a37a (just a guess).

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Install Linux and start Dolphin 5.0-16393 or newer.

Try to configure a controller input to
Click 1
by left-clicking the mapping button so it shows "..." and then clicking any mouse button.

Notice that the button continues showing "..." until it times out.

Is the issue present in the latest development version?
Yes.

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?
No.

If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version?
5.0-16393

What are your PC specifications?
latest Arch Linux with Qt packages 6.3.0-3 but without the qt6-wayland package

Emulator - Emulator Issues #12178 (Accepted): Qt: covers are cropped to banner size until downloa...https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/121782020-07-05T03:14:04Zflacs

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

In grid mode the game list shows covers cropped to the size of banner images until all cover downloads are finished.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

(you might need to purge the game list to reproduce this)

Make sure you're in grid mode

Switch on "Download Game Covers from GameTDB.com for Use in Grid Mode" and close the config dialog

Observe cropped covers until downloads are finished

Switch off "Download Game Covers from GameTDB.com for Use in Grid Mode" and close the config dialog

Observe game tiles staying at the cover size until all banners are loaded (probably much less noticeable if you have a short game list)

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

yes, 5.0-12253

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

untested

Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,

reproduced on both Windows and Linux

Emulator - Emulator Issues #12135 (Fixed): Sorting game list by File Path column takes a long timehttps://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/121352020-06-06T05:00:55Zflacs

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

Large game lists take a long time to sort by File Path while sorting by any other column is almost instant. Sorting a list of 1000 games takes about 50 seconds and it blocks the GUI thread.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Enable the File Path column, click on the header, wait.

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

5.0-12088

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

No, the File Path column didn't exist back then.

If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version?

It was already slow when the column was first added in 5.0-11707 (PR 8580).

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

Windows 10, ~1000 games on local network share (1 Gbps)

Emulator - Emulator Issues #11549 (Fixed): Search box should close with Escapehttps://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/115492019-02-03T23:34:14Zflacs

Currently the key combination to close the game list search box is Ctrl+F (the same as for opening it) which is not very intuitive.

Emulator - Emulator Issues #11540 (Fixed): Default hotkeys for Pause and Step Over conflicthttps://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/115402019-01-27T01:28:40Zflacs

The default hotkey for pausing is F10, the default for Step Over is F10 without modifiers. On Linux the debugger hotkeys don't seem to work when the main window is focused, so I'll leave fixing this to someone else. The debugger's default hotkeys are the same as in Visual Studio and it would be nice to keep that but pausing is definitely used more often, so the debugger hotkey should be changed.

Emulator - Emulator Issues #11489 (Accepted): Debugger: PC should be part of the call stackhttps://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/114892018-12-17T18:49:51Zflacs

At the moment the first entry in the call stack is the function that executed the last bl. This means once you navigate away from the current PC position the only way back is to look up the value of the PC and search for that address.

We should display the current PC position at the top of the call stack to make it easy to navigate back. This is also how other debuggers do it.

It may be preferable to bind the jump event in the call stack view to double click instead of single click.

I keep expecting this to work. At the moment we only support doing this one-by-one via Menu Bar->View->List Columns->[list of check box items] which is quite inconvenient.

Emulator - Emulator Issues #10994 (Won't fix): DolphinWX: crash in WiiConfigPane::LoadGUIValues()...https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/109942018-04-12T05:04:38Zflacs

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.
DolphinWX crashes if closed while the log config pane is enabled and the config dialog has been opened at least once.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Open DolphinWX with an empty user config directory (e.g. with "dolphin-emu -u $(mktemp -d)").

Open config dialog.

Close config dialog.

Enable View->Show Log Configuration.

Close DolphinWX.

Enjoy the crash.

Emulator - Emulator Issues #10383 (Accepted): Feature Request: Automatic Video Skippinghttps://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/103832017-07-03T08:25:27Zflacs

Gcube has a nifty little feature to automatically skip all THP/H4M/STR videos. It does this by HLE-ing relevant functions. It would be nice to support this too.

Emulator - Emulator Issues #10001 (Duplicate): Wiimote input for the Dolphin GUIhttps://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/100012016-12-30T02:08:45Zflacs

It would be nice to be able to select and start a game without switching between Wiimote and keyboard/mouse.

Emulator - Emulator Issues #9987 (Fixed): Support starting a game from a save statehttps://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/99872016-12-25T23:46:40Zflacs

Dolphin should support starting execution of a game directly from a save state without starting the game from the beginning. This would be useful for CI.

Emulator - Emulator Issues #9986 (Fixed): Loading save state early crashes gamehttps://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/99862016-12-25T23:38:57Zflacs

Loading a save state while Dolphin is starting a game can crash the game. This is because loading the DSP state triggers an interrupt which was not in the original save state. Initialization needs to be separated from starting execution.

Emulator - Emulator Issues #9985 (Won't fix): DSP: fall back to LLE instead of assuming AXhttps://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/99852016-12-25T23:26:31Zflacs

If a game uploads a DSP ROM that is not supported by DSP HLE, we currently assume it's a variant of AX. We should fall back to DSP LLE instead.
