Redmine Emulator - Emulator Issues #13009 (Fixed): WGInput device doesn't dissapear after unplugging cont...https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/130092022-08-07T13:37:17ZMiksel12

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

WGInput devices don't seem to be cleared correctly, when I plug in my DS4, it shows up after a refresh but after unplugging it stays in the list, even after a refresh. After I plug in a different controller it still only shows the previously unplugged controller. Only restarting Dolphin seems to fix it.

Another discovery I made is that WGInput and DInput controllers don't automatically show up, now requiring a refresh. SDL doesn't have this issue and correctly appears and dissapears in the list.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Plug in a controller, notice that WG/DInput don't show up, refresh, they show up, unplug, they don't dissapear, refresh, DInput dissapears and WGInput stays.

I only tested 5.0-16214, the first build with WGInput, WGInput and DInput work correctly in that build. I don't have time now for a bisect, will do that later.

Emulator - Emulator Issues #13008 (New): Duplicate controllers due to multiple controller API'shttps://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/130082022-08-07T13:15:44ZMiksel12

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

With the introduction of Windows Gaming Input and SDL, there are now 4 game controller API's for Windows. Besides cluttering the devices selection, it also completely negates the usefulness of the "All devices" option. When using a DS4 and selecting "All devices", I now get a SDL, WGI and Dinput input registered.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Plug in a controller and look at the device selection drop down and try to use the "All devices option".

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

Since the introduction of SDL and WGI on Windows.

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

W11 and a Dualshock 4.

Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files, savefiles, savestates)

I adressed this problem in the WGInput pull request: https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/7614#issuecomment-795639617
With Windows 7 and 8 support removed, I think it is time to phase out Dinput and Xinput in favour of WGinput and a modern keyboard and mouse API, and SDL for motion controls. I think making X/Dinput toggable in "Alternate Input Sources" just like DSU would make a good solution for now (or even for the long term) and new Dolphin installs can default on X/Dinput being disabled.

Emulator - Emulator Issues #12390 (Invalid): D3D11 halfs framerate in windowed modehttps://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/123902021-01-21T15:19:09ZMiksel12

Game Name?

Any game

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

The first thing I noticed a while ago is that in windowed mode, the max fps is limited by the refresh rate of my monitor (144Hz). I don't remember seeing this behaviour before but when I tested 5.0, I got the same result so I guess this could be a change in Windows. This causes the framerate to limited at half the refresh rate (72Hz) when a game shows duplicate frames and Dolphin is configured to show them.
But D3D11 seems to half that in windowed mode. The full framerate I get is 36fps in windowed mode. That means that when a game has duplicate frames and Dolphin shows duplicate frames and runs in windowed mode, the max fps I get on my 144Hz screen is 18fps.
BTW: All games run at 300+fps when in fullscreen.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Running D3D11 in windowed mode, enable present duplicate frames for extra slowdown(only if a game actually shows duplicate frames).

I first got 5.0-11524 as bisect(the adition of present duplicate frames) but later found out this isn't the reason why D3D11 runs at half speed compared to the rest.
I don't have the time right now to further bisect but 5.0-8828 had the issue.

Emulator - Emulator Issues #11974 (Fixed): Can't easily reconnect emulated controller inside Wii ...https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/119742020-02-08T01:59:57ZMiksel12

When pressing reconnect inside the Wii remote settings in the Wii home menu, the emulated controller gets disconnected like it should. This is also reported by Dolphin. When trying to reconnect using 1 & 2 Dolphin says the Wii remote is connected again but it doesn't connected to the emulated Wii.
About 1,5 minute later, the emulated Wii remote does connect to the emulated Wii.
Shutting down the emulated Wii seems to trigger something as the emulated Wii connects to the Wii remote. Though this worked only a few times. When Dolphin is connected to a remote but the Wii isn't, shutting down the Wii takes a lot longer.

This also with the latest dev build and with 5.0.

Emulator - Emulator Issues #11835 (Fixed): Qt: Button being pressed mapping indicator issueshttps://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/118352019-08-22T21:23:39ZMiksel12

When mapping mouse and keyboard to the gamecube controller, the mapped buttons don't 'bolden' (get bold) when pressed. The analog stick and trigger indicators do show that the buttons are being pressed. When using my Dualshock 4, this doesn't happen. This also doesn't happen when mapping the wii remote.

The hotkey mapping has another issue, when a action is mapped to a button, it stays bold although it is no longer pressed. This happens with mouse & keyboard and controller. By refreshing the page, the mapping button gets unbold but can't be made bold again by pressing the button.

The game will randomly drop to a framerate of 40-44FPS, this will stay this way until the framerate is unlocked and then locked again after which it will return to 50FPS. After around 30 second the framerate will drop again. If the framerate isn't unlocked, the game will stay at 40-45FPS for the whole game (or atleast for 10 min from testing). Tried with single core, LLE audio.

The game doesn't support 60FPS so I couldn't test that.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Play the PAL version.

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

5.0-10603

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

No, I had no issues with 5.0.

If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)

I currently don't have time to bisect. Will bisect later.

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

i5 4670K @4.3GHz, GTX 1060, W10

Emulator - Emulator Issues #11768 (New): Slow/Buggy Resource Pack Managerhttps://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/117682019-06-17T21:02:44ZMiksel12

When installing a Resource Pack (I installed these for SMG1 & SMG2 (as zip): https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-super-mario-galaxy-1-hd-texture-mod?pid=493182#pid493182) it takes about 15 seconds in which Dolphin is almost completely unresponsive. Giving inputs to Dolphin will give 'not responding' in the top window (see png) although it didn't crash. Also, selecting a pack and clicking up/down will move the pack up/down but also uninstall it. It is also not very clear what up/down does, I guess it dictates which pack is used when more than one pack is installed for 1 game but that is not made clear.
