Emulator - Emulator Issues #12695 (New): TAS Inputs - too much padding around boxhttps://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/126952021-10-03T02:54:52ZMalleoHaxMalleoHax@gmail.com

The TAS Input windows in Dolphin dev have significantly smaller StickWidgets compared to the wx version of Dolphin. See the comparison below.

5.0: https://gyazo.com/22fd13d612f8b122965330f1559a733e

It would be better for TASers if the default size of the box would be increased. Yes the window is resizable now (whereas 5.0 TAS Input is not), but I'd argue the default window size should still have less empty space between the StickWidget and the TASSliders than it currently has now.

Emulator - Emulator Issues #11954 (New): Qt limitations regarding netplay that were not present i...https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/119542020-01-16T07:57:52ZLittle_mac

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong and how to replicate it.

[ever-sense the release of the new Qt menu there has been two netplay menu bugs that never got fixed

back in Dolphin 5.0 wile you were netplaying, you could netplay with 2 people or more and
then one person just kinda crashes or internet goes out and the other was able to save state and then do a
in game save so that all progress was not lost.

the new update force closes everyone's game window making so that you can't save your
progress regardless of what dolphin setting you have in "Interface > Confirm on Stop"

for the 2nd thing in Dolphin 5.0 when your netplaying at all you could change your controller
input settings when set on a "Standard Controller > GameCube controller"

in the new update it forces you to not even be able to change that anymore during a netplay game
forcing all players to restart when there controller is not setup correctly.

I would Love to see you guys fix this so that I can netplay on the new dolphin like I used to
before with friends on old Dolphin 5.0

P.S. Without these issues being fixed dolphin has taken a few steps backwards]

Emulator - Emulator Issues #11814 (New): [Accessibility Request] Larger menus while using touchsc...https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/118142019-08-01T16:17:28ZJebeld17@gmail.comJebeld17@gmail.com

With touchscreens now prevalent on most new devices - laptops especially - users are gravitating toward physically "touching" their apps to interact with them more than ever. With this, we should provide these users - the general public - with a few optimizations that make this form of interaction easier.

I am highlighting two main concerns and suggesting how to fix them and cater to these users below:

"File" menus are optimized for keyboard and mouse (menu drop-downs are too small for fingers).

Fix: When Dolphin recognizes a touch input instead of a keyboard/mouse click, dolphin should present these menus with larger text and taller margins to make easier to touch.

Right-click menus are also too small for touch.

Fix: When Dolphin recognizes a touch input right-click (whether tapping with two fingers or pressing and holding for approx 1 second) instead of a keyboard/mouse click, dolphin should present these menus with larger text and taller margins to make easier to touch.

Emulator - Emulator Issues #10163 (New): [Feature Request] Assigning controller ports during Netplayhttps://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/101632017-03-23T16:21:28Zehw

I apologize if this issue was already created. I tried looking for something similar but I couldn't really find anything.

As of 5.0-3063, Dolphin has the ability to allow the host to assign controller ports to connected clients before starting a Netplay session. As soon as the game begins, unless the host completely stops the emulation, the host cannot change the controller assignment (the option becomes unavailable). It would be great if the host could change the controller port during emulation/netplay because it would allow for more possibilities with netplay. For instance, if I were playing a single player game and I wanted to "pass the controller" to someone else, as a host, I could assign the controller to either another player that has a controller assigned to them or a spectator to allow them to play the game i.e "golf mode". I believe there are certain games that might also have multiplayer in the form of passing the physical controller to another player, although I don't know of any off the top of my head. This is also good for multiplayer sessions that have at least two players and at least one spectator. If the spectator wishes to play, the host can give either their controller or player 2's controller to the spectator and allow them to play without stopping netplay/emulation.

I don't know how feasible this might be, although if it's not possible (or if it's dangerous to) change controller assignments during active emulation, perhaps allow the host to assign the controllers when emulation is paused instead, not stopped.

What do you think?

Emulator - Emulator Issues #9688 (New): Add default config for named pipe input controllershttps://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/96882016-07-09T22:15:32Zaltf4altf4@phx2600.org

When trying to use named pipe inputs for controllers, there is no default config for what buttons map where. Users have to manually specify this laboriously through the GUI or by hand editing the GCPadNew.ini file. It's a big hurdle for non-technical users that are trying to use this feature.

Since this is named pipe inputs, there's basically no reason to vary from the default. Dolphin takes in a message that says "PRESS B", so of course the user expects it to press the B button. Let's make that default so users aren't forced to to manually configure this themselves.

Here is a sample config file that works:

I feel a useful feature would be to sort games by the amount of times they've been opened in Dolphin. Thereby putting the most frequently played games at the top of the list.
