Description

Game Name?

Super Paper Mario

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

I'm recording inputs for this game to play them later and dump the frames, I want to capture the intro cutscene but it seems it is too long and dolphin decides to disconnect the emulated wiimote after a while, can't do inputs on the cutscene or it'll just skip.

After it's disconnected the emulation doesn't pause but the input counter does, can't reconnect the wiimote and resume the inputs. Searching for a way to turn this off instead of re-recording again.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Selecting "Play input recording" with a file containing a hole of no inputs for a few minutes.

Which versions of Dolphin did you test on? Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which versions of Dolphin used to work?

  • Subject changed from Emulated wiimote disconnects on inactivity while playing recorded input to Can't reconnect Wiimotes while playing recorded input
  • Issue type changed from Bug to Feature request

We can't get rid of the disconnects, but adding a way to reconnect is a good feature request.

If you want a workaround in the meantime, try wiggling the Wii Remote occasionally. The game might consider that as input without skipping the cutscene.
