Description

Game Name?

Super Paper Mario

Game ID? (right click the game in the game list, properties, info tab)

R8PE01

MD5 Hash? (right click the game in the game list, properties, info tab, MD5 Hash: Compute)

ba74fb5b6b820b6feb771786180e4c65

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

Need to disable bounding box for a specific part of the game but the game says "Option "BBoxEnable" is overidden by game ini", said ini does not exist or is blank.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Trying to enable the graphic setting "disable bounding box" and playing said game.

Which versions of Dolphin did you test on? Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which versions of Dolphin used to work?

5.0-3485

The game requires bounding box, why are you trying to disable it?

A freeze on chapter 6-1, The only thing I could find about it was a post from 2012 saying "For king sammer, save the game (not a save state) before entering world 6-1, then close the game, disable bounding box and get past that cutscene[/align]. You can safely re-enable it after that scene, as the game will not crash again. "

I've played through 6-1 on the new bounding box implementation and it doesn't crash. You didn't completely fill out the issue report (we ask for your computer specs,) and it's very, very important for determining where the issue is.

Disabling bounding box to "fix" a crash would be a shit work-around at best, and if there is an issue in the bounding box implementation it'd need to be fixed. The post from 2012 wouldn't apply to the new implementations anyway.

That really shouldn't crash at any point. Can you try disabling dualcore and running through the segment again? I played through the whole game on a GTX 760/1070 without any crashes whatsoever. You shouldn't be running into crashes either. When it crashes, are there any message boxes that popup if you enable panic handlers in options/configuration (second tab over in that menu.)

If none of htat works, can you export the Wii save and send it our way with instructions? Also, can you make sure you're using the latest builds?

Dualcore was actually disabled, enabled panic handlers but nothing shows up. Tried both with save states and a normal load. Tried it with 5.0-4700 but it's the same. (Alt tabbing in this version and going back to the game slows down the whole pc for some reason and the screen is black)

I attach the save, instructions for it would be:

Load, go right, take the elevator up, left and again elevator up, right and elevator up, now all the way left and down the blue pipe, now left to the white tower and take the elevator up, now right to the last dark blue door, go in, dialogues, right and through the door, go right dialogues, jump on the guy attacking you, dialogues, then the king cues his vassals, a door opens on the cutscene and it should freeze once it's open.

What internal resolution are you using?

Also, which graphics backend are you using?

Actions #9

2x Native. As for graphics, was using Direct3D 12 on 5.0-3485, 3D 11 on 5.0-4700

Testing things today, changing resolution to native seems to have fixed it.

Okay, that's a problem. I'll contact one of the graphics devs to look into it more.

I tested your savefile on all backends, and cannot reproduce the issue. D3D12 was removed due to not being maintained, so, honestly I can't do anything more but mark it as invalid.

I tested 1x, 2x, and 3x IR on my GTX 760, OpenGL and D3D.

Leaving open for now in case you find more information.
