Description

Game Name?

de Blob, PAL version

Game ID? (right click the game in the game list, properties, info tab)

R6BP78

MD5 Hash? (right click the game in the game list, properties, info tab, MD5 Hash: Compute)

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

When the game itself starts after you've selected a level, there is a bloom/halo effect on the top and left border of the screen. This effect lasts during the whole game until you've finished the level and go back to the menu.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Simply start the game and enter a level.

It is important to make sure the bug hasn't already been fixed. Please tell us what the latest version you've verified the bug on.

Latest stable 5.0

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

Yes, 5.0

If your issue is a graphical issue, please attach screenshots and record a three frame fifolog of the issue if possible. Screenshots showing what it is supposed to look like from either console or older builds of Dolphin will help too. For more information on how to use the fifoplayer, please check here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer

The problem I experience is the same as in this video:
https://youtu.be/Oyw01LVmplU?t=4m
This video is from Dolphin version 4 and presents other problems I'm not experiencing, the only common issue is this very visible halo/bloom border on the left and the top.

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

Windows 10, processor Intel(R) Core i7-6700K , RAM 16Go, graphic card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080

Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files, savefiles, savestates)

I tried OpenGL and Direct 3D, native resolution and x3, and the problem is the same.

BTW, amazing work from every Dolphin participant. Thank you.

Note: I more or less use standard settings. I tried with the emulator set at native resolution and with anti-aliasing off, and the issue is the same.

Yes, I too have noticed this (even in latest dev builds). I haven't investigated the actual issue yet.

It's possibly related to 10401 (texture coordinates being off) but that's just a guess at this point.

Just in case it helps, I've noticed videos where the effect is much worse:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ra7EOs6BH1k
and some others where the effect isn't there:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuLPkdhiaK8
Both videos have their specs and settings in the presentation text.

The video where the effect isn't there says:
"Also there is a nasty texture bug in game. The only way around this is to use the "bleach vs crusade" hack. The only problem is that utilizing this hack hides the in game interface."
No clue if it is the issue we're talking about or if it's the (old, resolved) black square one.
