History

#1 Updated by kolano almost 4 years ago

Similar problems occur with "Bleach: Shattered Blade", though that may be a different issue.

#2 Updated by Juesto almost 4 years ago

last time i tried this game works fine.
Have you tried different backends?

#3 Updated by kolano almost 4 years ago

When was that?

Only particular videos are broken. Many videos, like the pre-menu ones play fine, as does the gameplay. However the video from the movie played when a New game is started does not play with any backend or any known set of configuration options (common options like EFB / XFB to RAM have been tried).

Correction, it plays with the Software Backend.

Same breakage shown in Wiki video back to 4.0.1.

If you disable EFB2VRAM copies (in advanced) the video will show up!

Before Hybrid XFB this needed XFB Real, but after it no longer worked with even with "Store XFB Copies to Texture Only" disabled.

This was partially fixed in 5.0-10000, now it displays the first video after selecting "New Game" on default settings.
The black bar that should be above the video is now purple though. The purple bar above the video is fixed with "Store XFB Copies to Texture Only" disabled.

Caused by 5.0-5874 -> https://dolphin-emu.org/download/dev/609a17a0cd41a12c0fbf9a7c47c8889232594778/

Mostly fixed by 5.0-10000 -> https://dolphin-emu.org/download/dev/18589e50ab44957f4955596ac238d900f28959c3/

Included screenshot is 5.0-10000 how it appears with default settings.

I think this should be closed since the video is playing now since 5.0-10000 with default settings.

There are other games with purple loading screens or in the letterbox section of FMVs

Thanks for the update ZephyrSurfer. I agree that the base issue reported here can probably by considered resolved, but we may want to track the titles with improperly colored boxes from the current XFB handling.
