Description

Game Name?

[Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2]

Game ID? (right click the game in the game list, properties, info tab)

[RDBPAF]

MD5 Hash? (right click the game in the game list, properties, info tab, MD5 Hash: Compute)

[950d8939483a8c4fb3efc79f7639e598]

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

[The problem is that since 5.0-1127 was launched introducing support for RGBA6 EFB format truncation all effects that I see on consoles are pressent (well is only one, but is also the problematic) specifically I'm talking about a Shine effect (like a bloom effect) present when you are charging a hit or always present like in Super Saiyans, Freezer 100%, Perfect Cell etc. as I mention the problem appear when upscalin is used producing the shine or more like the character itself look like double or triple, and all been said this in a lesser extent also affects to Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3, at least on Super Saiyans]

What steps will reproduce the problem?

[First, use upscaling, but with x2 you don't notice it so much but with 1080p and 4K is other story,
Second and last, use a Super Saiyan or every character with high shine, I recomend Goku SSJ3]

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

[Yes, 5.0-6197]

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

[Not exactly, because what happen there is that visual effect itself is missing]

If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)

[First broken version number here (if applicable)]

If your issue is a graphical issue, please attach screenshots and record a three frame fifolog of the issue if possible. Screenshots showing what it is supposed to look like from either console or older builds of Dolphin will help too. For more information on how to use the fifoplayer, please check here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer

[Attach any fifologs if possible, write a description of fifologs and screenshots here to assist people unfamiliar with the game.]

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

[CPU: AMD FX 9590, 16GB RAM, Emulator on SSD, game on HDD, GPU: AMD Fury, Fury Nano and Fury X (They aren't in the system at the same time), 80+ Gold 1000W Power Suppy, AM3+ Asus Sabertooth 990FX]

Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files, savefiles, savestates)

[I just remember that under character energy and life bars there are in any version I use a little black lines, I think fifo isn't neccesary becuase the issue depends on your rendering resolution, sorry If I have basic mistakes Im new to this community]

With more exhaustive comparison with a Wii version it looks like Dolphin is exaggerating the effect, because in certain charged hits without upscaling looks like there is a shiny and blurry shadow and when in this vĂdeo and seconds (after there is more charged punchs) https://youtu.be/q3wICfa6e8w?t=3176 we can see that the effect is not showing how it should on Dolphon

I resolved the bloom issue for Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 ( at least for EU version )

I manually created a folder named " Dragon Ball Z BT 2" inside Dolphin\User\Load\GraphicMods\

( you can see the "real" game name in "Game property > Info" )

inside the folder create an empity .txt file called "RDBPAF.txt"

insisde the folder create a file called metadata.json with this string:

{
"meta":
{
"title": "Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 Bloom Definition",
"author": "Darkcranio"
},
"groups":
[
{
"name": "Bloom",
"targets": [
{
"type": "efb",
"texture_filename": "efb1_n000012_80x64_6"
}
]
}
]
}

Save and restart Dolphin, now in game property the fix should appear

Unfortunately it doesn't work for NTSC-U or J
I renamed it RDBJAF/RDB370 and checked the box in graphics mods

Any chance you could get it to work? Especially NTSC-J since it's the most played version in netplay
