It sounds reasonable that we should mention this in the readme. (The forum topic you linked isn't the only place where you can find out, though... For instance, if you try to build without the Qt submodule pulled, it will suggest you to pull the Qt submodule.)

Oh, Indeed I remember some mention of that, but the primary message was about "Qt dir not found or doesn't exist".

Forgot to mention: It seems that --recursive option with the git clone command was changed to --recurse-submodules versus what's mentioned on the older stackoverflow posts linked in the forum thread above.
Since I cloned already and didn't want to reclone I had to do different steps, I would include a mention of this one clone option at least, but it's up to you guys.
