When I disable store efb copies to texture only, the game slows down

Yes, EFB copies to RAM is slower. That's just how it is.
You've said that this problem doesn't happen in 5.0. Do you mean that EFB copies to RAM doesn't slow down the emulation at all, or that EFB copies to RAM slows down emulation less than in the latest development build?

...alright, I guess there aren't any signs to this actually being a performance regression then.
