open

Sometimes when opening the graphics menu under Vulkan, Dolphin reloads the shaders. And sometimes that makes it crash.

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

Sometimes when opening the graphics menu under Vulkan, Dolphin claims that "Video config changed" and starts reloading shaders. And this process sometimes causes Dolphin to crash.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Open the graphics menu. I think this has only ever happened to me the first time I open the menu on each sessions (so if it happens when your first open the menu it won't happen again in that session, if it doesn't happen the first time it won't happen for that session) but I'm not 100% sure about that.

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

Yes, 5.0-8710

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

No vulkan there

If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)

I don't know, since the issue seems to be random I don't really know if I could find the broken version. But it has happened for a long time

If your issue is a graphical issue, please attach screenshots and record a three frame fifolog of the issue if possible. Screenshots showing what it is supposed to look like from either console or older builds of Dolphin will help too. For more information on how to use the fifoplayer, please check here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer

I don't think this classifies

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

i7 6700k
GTX 1070
16 GB RAM DDR4
Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit and Ubuntu Budgie 18.04 (happens on both!)

Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files, savefiles, savestates)

This has happened to me on both Windows and Linux so it's not OS-specific.
Also, I don't know if this is relevant, but when this happened to me in Wario World, Wario disappeared from the screen until Dolphin finished doing whatever it was doing.

Does it happen in Single Core?

Now that you mention it, I think this has only ever happened to me in dual core...

The crash is caused by dualcore, the behavior can happen in single core. I don't know why Vulkan sometimes decides it needs to reload shaders.

Shouldn't this be set to "confirmed" then? :D
