What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.
So my controller works perfectly fine with every other game, but when I open this game I can't get the past the screen where you choose language because the game doesn't respond to any inputs. I'm using a GameCube controller with a Mayflash adapter.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
Opening the game.
Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.
The version I'm using is 5.0-8991.
What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

Cannot reproduce, and since you didn't list computer specs, operating system, etc. it's not like I can really compare to try different systems and see if something I'm using is potentially avoiding a bug.
I tried multiple versions of Dolphin including the one you listed. I even tried standard controller and native GC.
