I read the description for the pull request reverting the alphabetical sorting, and that is a good reason for not forcing the alphabetical sorting.
But, I think that sorting Gecko codes when they have first been downloaded, while allowing the ordering to be changed manually, would work best.
I might be misunderstanding some of the processes here, let me know if that's the case.
