Description

Game Name?

Super Mario Sunshine

Game ID? (right click the game in the game list, Properties, Info tab)

GMSE01

MD5 Hash? (right click the game in the game list, Properties, Verify tab, Verify Integrity button)

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

When Background Input is unchecked, clicking to other windows does not disable input (gamecube controller). Only clicking Dolphin's main window does.

Clicking the game window enables input. Clicking Dolphin's rom list disables input. Clicking any other app does nothing to disable input.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  • In Controller Settings dialog, uncheck "Background Input"
  • Bind gamecube controller to keyboard
  • Launch game
  • Click on another non-Dolphin window
  • Press keyboard keys when other window active
  • Dolphin responds.

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

5.0-a5af11b-dirty (Ubuntu PPA dolphin-emu-master)

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

Is it worth comparing DolphinWX to DolphinQT?

If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)

do i need to bisect from when dolphinqt was born at 978a855d3f7d01c541700f09f517d1ef213a0eec? wx was killed at e22c5333ab50c3e84774ce831eaeba48bcea5901? even getting old versions to compile is hard (wx includes xlocale.h which was removed)

I compiled e22c5333ab50c3e84774ce831eaeba48bcea5901, but I only get dolphin-emu-nogui .

I can't reproduce this in Linux.

This is probably related to KDE. It's also random whether it occurs or not.

This has been a long-standing issue for me :(

Likely a Linux-only bug, otherwise lots of people would complain.
