What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

[The graphics will sometimes freeze in the options menu and quickly error out while using the D3D12 Render in pikmin 2]

What steps will reproduce the problem?

[1. Load pikmin 2 while in the D3D12 renderer
2. Go to the options menu
3. Move down to save settings and press to create a save file and then go back to the options menu
4. Now move to the deflicker option in the options menu and go left right left right then press b
5. Move up then press a
6. Repeat step 4
7. The graphics may have frozen and pressing b again will cause some error with D3D12 and freeze]

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

[5.0-10142]

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

[Unknown]

If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)

[Probably when D3D12 was added back]

If your issue is a graphical issue, please attach screenshots and record a three frame fifolog of the issue if possible. Screenshots showing what it is supposed to look like from either console or older builds of Dolphin will help too. For more information on how to use the fifoplayer, please check here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer

[Attach any fifologs if possible, write a description of fifologs and screenshots here to assist people unfamiliar with the game.]

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

[i5 7500 GTX 1070 Windows 10 1809 8GB DDR4]

Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files, savefiles, savestates)

[Anything else here]

The freeze more consistently happens if the deflicker was off to begin with

If you record a fifolog in another backend and play it back on dx12, does it trigger the error?

and if you are quick about going left right left right then pressing b

Stenzek, can you explain how to do that?

NVM I figured it out, but no it seems to not crash after playing the fifo log recorded in d3d11 in d3d12

Does it happen if you turn off dualcore?

Actions #7

Just tried it and yes, it happens regardless of dual core settings. Its also not a full freeze, just the graphics freeze, but the audio and game keep going and it dolphin will eventually give an error about DXTexture: Create Failed. Again, does not happen on D3D11 (Haven't tested other backends)

Cool! Sounds like a legitimate bug then.

  • Status changed from New to Accepted

Probably related to the other D3D12 random/semi-random crashes.
