Description

I know that the DVD drive of the GameCube and the Wii is much slower than the speed of any hard drive, but hear me out. Because of limited internal storage on my laptop, I would like to simply have all my GC and Wii games on my 4 TB USB external drive. However, when loading games directly from the external HDD, there's additional stuttering that is not present when loading from an internal SSD. This might also be related to me having every single game compressed, but it only happens when lodaing off the external drive. I can copy the games that I want to play to the internal storage and use the external storage as a "fridge", but what would be more convenient is an option to copy the entire game to RAM upon start and just load stuff from there. My laptop has 32 GB of RAM, so it can handle any Wii game being loaded fully to RAM. Of course, not all users would be able to take advantage of this option, but not all users can take advantage of rendering at 4k with 8xSSAA either for example!
