Emulator Issues #11965
closedFastmem = False is broken on Android or AArch64 after "Core/HW -> PowerPC/JIT: Fastmem arena construction"
0%
Description
Game Name?
Many (all?) games, for instance Wii Play (RHAP01 rev 0)
What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.
When you set Fastmem = False in Dolphin.ini, games will cause Dolphin to crash or show panic alerts like "Invalid write to 0x00000004".
This happens on my phone (Android and AArch64) but not on my PC (Windows and x86-64). I'm not sure whether the OS or the ISA is the important factor.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Set Fastmem = False under [Core] in Dolphin.ini.
- Kill the Dolphin process if it is already running, so that the settings will be reloaded.
- Launch Dolphin and boot a game.
Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?
No
If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)
