Description

Game Name?
Skies of Arcadia Legends

Game ID? (right click the game in the game list, Properties, Info tab)

GEAE8P

MD5 Hash? (right click the game in the game list, Properties, Verify tab, Verify Integrity button)

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

When running Skies of Arcadia Legends and doing screenshare with Discord, focused on Dolphin, the stream will crash after only a brief moment of streaming, and upon closing the stream, will cause Discord's audio to cut out, and upon closing a call, will cause an infinite authentication loop that will cause Discord to crash, requiring termination by Task Manager. I dunno if this is a Dolphin issue, or a Discord issue specifically, but this problem began only recently. Maybe a combo of both?

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Open up Dolphin and begin a game.
On Discord: Jump into a VC Channel and Go Live, or Screenshare via DMs in a Voice Call.
That's it. That's all.

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

Unknown

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

No.

If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)

5.0-2002

If your issue is a graphical issue, please attach screenshots and record a three frame fifolog of the issue if possible. Screenshots showing what it is supposed to look like from either console or older builds of Dolphin will help too. For more information on how to use the fifoplayer, please check here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer

[Attach any fifologs if possible, write a description of fifologs and screenshots here to assist people unfamiliar with the game.]

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

MSI GE62 6QF Apache Pro https://www.digit.in/laptops/msi-ge62-6qd-apache-pro-price-55550.html Specs can be found in the URL. It's a 2-3 year old machine.

Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files, savefiles, savestates)

Again, I'm not certain this issue is a Discord-side or a Dolphin-side issue. I'm leaning toward the former but felt it would be prudent to file a report just in case.

Any time a screensharing program or recording program hooks into Dolphin, it's always a bit frightening. We've had issues with OBS breaking EFB access in the past, so it's completely reasonable that Dolphin is doing something that discord doesn't like or discord is doing something that dolphin doesn't like.

The thing is, this issue only began to happen recently, like, as of the latest update I think. Last time I streamed Dolphin before, there were no issues, outside of occasional audio stutter by the game and, well, the fact Dolphin experienced a random crash and closed itself, at least not with my version of Dolphin, which is version 5.0-2002, as listed. I haven't tried the newer versions yet.

For clarifiction: I'm talking about the latest Discord Update, not the latest Dolphin update.

If you haven't tried newer versions then this issue is questionable at best. If a build is several years old, then the video part of Dolphin is going to be completely different at this point.

Honestly this is probably on Discord regardless.

I'll download the latest stable version and get back to this and see if the issue persists.

You need to download the latest development version, not the latest stable version. The latest stable version is even older than the version you already have.

I meant Beta version, sorry.

I downloaded the latest Dev version and am going to attempt to run it.

Alright, I downloaded the latest dev version and ran it, and did the steps I previously listed, and it has the same issue, after about a minute to a minute and a half of streaming, the things I outlined in the issue description persist. Everything from the stream crashing to the infinite Authentication Loop that forces me to kill Discord.

Version is 5.0-12017 for clarification's sake.

There's another issue for the game as well that popped up with this version. During loading screens for rooms like the interior of Shrine Island and it's exterior as well after loading a save a frame that shows green and pink will appear for a about a half-second before disappearing, usually after loading finishes.

Turn off "Store XFB Copies to TExture Only" for that.

Alright, I'll do that.

However, what about the other issue, can it be confirmed or not that it's a Dolphin-side issue or a Discord-side issue?

While the issue itself appears to be outside of Dolphin, it's unknown if something inside of Dolphin is breaking discord due to Dolphin being weird, or Discord being wrong.

So. I have been streaming Dolphin for the past couple of hours and nothing has gone amiss. Surprisingly, the issue seemed to resolve itself after turning off "Store XFB Copies to Texture Only" but I can't confirm this is the case.

So maybe look at the graphical settings?

Honestly, I don't know. I did a test stream just now with SoA and it seemed okay. I'm just going to close this issue for now but feel free to rereport if you get it to crop up with more information.
