What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.
So I'm using the NTSC DOF gecko hack (only works on rev.0, not 01/02) and the game looks gorgeous, that is so long as I don't go indoors lol
What steps will reproduce the problem?
With an NTSC ISO of the game and it needs to be rev.0 otherwise the gecko DOF code won't work, set that up and you'll notice everything is rendered perfectly outside but going/being inside looks like the graphics and physics just exploded or something, but funny enough zooming in with the camera by pressing the C button and going into first person mode, it renders everything as it should as I have shown in the pictures below. This only applies when using this gecko code.
Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.
5.0-12097, yes.
Is the issue present in the latest stable version?
No, Dolphin 5.0
If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)
I am not sure as I am playing with a controller and not a Wii remote and so the furthest I can go back is the first version to emulate Wii motion plus which is version 5.0-10056 and that too has this same problem.
If your issue is a graphical issue, please attach screenshots and record a three frame fifolog of the issue if possible. Screenshots showing what it is supposed to look like from either console or older builds of Dolphin will help too. For more information on how to use the fifoplayer, please check here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer
The first screenshot shows what the game should not look like and the second screenshot shows what the game should look like. For example look at the floor rug on the left hand side of the first image and then look at it again in the second image, etc.
What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)
Windows 20H1 latest
Ryzen 5 2600
Vega 56
Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files, savefiles, savestates)
Yeah just have the necessary ISO and add this text to the game ini to have everything immediately ready to go:
ForceFiltering = True
[Gecko]
$Art Style Intensity Modifier [Anarion]
0257A350 00003F83
*This code removes the painterly Depth of Field effect
[Gecko_Enabled]
$Art Style Intensity Modifier

Sorry you'll notice on the second image that sections of the bottom and left borders of the screen are blurred beyond recognition in addition to everything else that is going on there.

- Status changed from New to Questionable
You specified in "Is the issue present in the latest stable version?" that the issue doesn't happen in 5.0 stable, but you specified in "If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version?" that you haven't tested any version older than 5.0-10056. Have you confirmed that there is a version where this problem doesn't occur? Otherwise this is most likely a problem with the DoF removal code rather than with Dolphin.

Yeah hah I know it works in the 5.0 stable even though I have not and could not test it by this thread on reddit which fully details everything exactly going on here: https://www.reddit.com/r/DolphinEmulator/comments/c4097e/zelda_skyward_sword_graphics_issue_dolphin_5010553/ -Sorry for not clarifying this in the report. I mean yes the Gecko code causes the explosion of graphics indoors but it didn't in the older versions right? I'm wondering if this could be looked into as its the gecko code that is advertised on the main dolphin wiki page for skyward sword. Thank you.

- Subject changed from Skyward sword garbled graphics indoors to Skyward sword garbled graphics indoors (With cheatcodes)
- Status changed from Questionable to Working as intended
If the cheatcode malfunctions indoors, then there's nothing we can really do about it.
I think what would need to happen is that the cheatcode would need to be repaired, and that's out of our realm of expertise. I'd also warn against using cheatcodes as there are reports of some of them causing savefile corruption to the point where you can be put into unwinnable states.
For a long term solution, maybe the game patch infrastructure should be used to bypass potential gecko code issues.
