Description

Game Name?

[Around the World]

Game ID? (right click the game in the game list, Properties, Info tab)

[Put Game ID here]

MD5 Hash? (right click the game in the game list, Properties, Verify tab, Verify Integrity button)

[Put MD5 Hash here]

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

[Using any backend, aswell as using Jit recompiler or Interpreter, the globe that you use in gameplay to select the correct location doesn't render. There is also flickering bars at the bottom top parts of the, although when i used Interpreter they didn't appear.]

What steps will reproduce the problem?

[Load game, use any backend, select a question.]

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

[5.0 - 12099]

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

[Yes/No and version number here]

If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)

[As far as i know, issues was found 2 1/2 years ago on the forums]

If your issue is a graphical issue, please attach screenshots and record a three frame fifolog of the issue if possible. Screenshots showing what it is supposed to look like from either console or older builds of Dolphin will help too. For more information on how to use the fifoplayer, please check here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer

[Globe and bars top bottom which flicker attached]

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

[CPU=AMD E1-7010 APU,GPU=AMD Radeon R2 Graphics,Op Sy=Windows]

Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files, savefiles, savestates)

On the forum post, one person said that they got the globe to appear by using OpenGL, however i have been unable to reproduce this with interpreter, OpenGl, Dualcore, MMU, or deferred copy settings at all.

I can confirm this issue. There's some kind of EFB/XFB clearing issue or something. You can see the world behind the garbage if you turn on wireframe.

This issue is fixed in the latest build, dunno since when.

I can't confirm that this is fixed; the fifo in comment 1 still is obstructed by the Wizarbox text for me (and if freelook is used, the globe can be seen behind the sign), and everything is still flickery. I don't have a copy of this game, so I can't test if it's somehow changed in a way that isn't reflected in the fifo.

Object 2 (the Wizarbox text) does have both color channels disabled and also set to RGBA, so it would be transparent from the SMS debug cube fix... except that it's configured to use the material color, which is set to white, and thus it shows up.

I can confirm that the game is fixed, when I updated to newest version, globe appears and there's no flickering. Can confirm it wasn't the Debug cubes PR which fixed it though, issue still existed then.

Okay, confirmed it, fixed by https://dolphin-emu.org/download/dev/93f9d67d2fd8e0de89ea9c6703a53c25f213c330/ , so the FS IOS timings difference. Not sure why, but eh.

Could you upload a new fifolog from the fixed version? I'm curious if the relevant objects still exist or if the game removed them now (perhaps it was a timing bug where IOS FS finished before the game decided it should be done loading, so the text box never disappeared, or something like that).

Yeah, it seems like the problematic objects are now gone (the globe is now object 1, and the background object 0; previously, objects 0 and 2 were both the text, object 1 was the background (which was sometimes mangled), and object 3 was the globe). So, it being fixed by the IOS timings change seems reasonable to me.
