I haven't heard anything before about a new GPU scheduler that would require Direct3D 12 Ultimate support from the application's side. Do you have more information about that? I can find information about some new hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling, but nothing that connects it to Direct3D 12 Ultimate.

About the GPU scheduler, I don't think the new GPU scheduler requires d3dd 12 ultimate. See the quote in the link. https://www.pcworld.idg.com.au/article/680842/nvidia-geforce-rtx-graphics-cards-now-first-directx-12-ultimate-gpus/
All the articles I've found say that when the driver supports the new GPU scheduler, it works everywhere. Its only supported by Nvidia as of current, but AMD confirmed it will in the future.

  • Status changed from New to Invalid
  • Issue type changed from Bug to Feature request
  • Operating system Windows added
  • Operating system deleted (N/A)

So we have no particular reason to use Direct3D 12 Ultimate, then.
