What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.
Using a "Real wii remote" and OpenGL the pointer seems to be working but when you try to pick the star bits it fails.
Not a big issue but in the level where you need Yoshi's tongue to progress the game becomes unplayable.
The issue gets fixed using Directx 11.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
Using a "Real wii remote" and OpenGL the pointer seems to be working but when you try to pick the star bits it fails.
Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.
Dolphin 5.0-12612
Is the issue present in the latest stable version?
Not sure. I haven't tried it.
If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)
Not sure. I haven't tried it.
If your issue is a graphical issue, please attach screenshots and record a three frame fifolog of the issue if possible. Screenshots showing what it is supposed to look like from either console or older builds of Dolphin will help too. For more information on how to use the fifoplayer, please check here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer
Not a graphical issue.
What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)
4790K CPU - 980ti GPU - Windows 10
Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files, savefiles, savestates)
The issue gets fixed using Directx 11.

Hm, so not that then... Seems like it could be some kind of graphics driver issue, but I don't know beyond that.

I haven't tried Vulkan. Do you need that test?
Which API do you recommend here for Super Mario Galaxy 2?
I've been playing for approximately 3 hours using Directx 11 and looks nice.

I don't know why enabling multi-sampling would break things any differently. The driver used to be skipping stuff iirc.

I want this potential 5.0-12078 regression looked into before the next stable release.

More issues seem to come from 5.0-12078, https://www.reddit.com/r/DolphinEmulator/comments/iw5kv4/any_idea_how_to_get_rid_of_these_big_white_lines/ happens since 5.0-12078.
