What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

I'm attempting to record input, however no matter when or even under what circumstances I do this, when selecting "Start Recording Input" under the "Movie" dropdown, the emulator closes after a brief second of my mouse showing the 'loading' status.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Open any game(I only tried this with Sonic Adventure 2: Battle).
  2. During any gameplay moment, select Movie => Start Recording Input.

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

Yes. Version 5.0-13963 for Windows x64

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

Yes. Version 5.0-14092 for Windows 64x

If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)

If your issue is a graphical issue, please attach screenshots and record a three frame fifolog of the issue if possible. Screenshots showing what it is supposed to look like from either console or older builds of Dolphin will help too. For more information on how to use the fifoplayer, please check here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer

Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,

Can you get a core dump or stack trace? I cannot reproduce the issue.

I have a very similar issue where when I select "Start Recording Input", the game Freezes. The input counter in the title bar goes up really quickly but nothing happens. Other times Dolphin just freezes entirely. UNLESS I start as administrator!

Nvm the admin part. Not sure if I mis-saw something, or if it just worked once by coincidence.

Disabling dual-core just worked for me

Input recordings + Deterministic Dualcore are not a good idea. All input recordings should be recorded in single core
