Description

Egg Mania

GD7JB2, GD7E70, GD7PB2

2778e6decba24f5b14468088c751dc6b

The screen shakes vertically throughout the entire game.
I've tried all settings and different resolutions, v/sync,
changed backend. Nothing seems to work a part from using
earlier versions 4.2 and below.

i7 8700K 3.60GHZ
GTX 1070
Windows 10

If it's an interlace only game, then using old builds won't help - Dolphin has never had interlacing support.

This looks like the interlacing issue. It's just odd that it would work in 4.0.2. Probably some other problem causing it to render differently.

Old Builds do work as can be seen here: https://youtu.be/mP0aGuwQDjY?t=12

If you're feeling adventurous, you could try to do a more exact bisect by jumping in the middle of 4.0 and 5.0, and then narrowing it down to an exact build. I don't think you'll find anything super interesting, though. This looks like interlacing; but I don't remember Dolphin ever having any kind of interlacing support.

I'll give it a crack.

You don't have to, someone commented that the old video is 30 FPS vs the new video is 60 FPS. It looks like the older builds were skipping frames, causing the issue to be invisible.

Wish I read that quicker...

Last functioning version was 4.0 - 278

Seems to break on 4.0 - 284

You are right that it used to work and got a good bisect range MudNoodle that matches what I found.

But it's Direct3D only and the bisected version had no build available.

I tracked it down to:

4.0-282 (no build available) -> https://dolphin-emu.org/download/dev/0002236e3e7f60c1cc0b7a9d8477a622cf6fa699/

Definitely an interlacing issue. We should support games with interlacing
