What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

The videos in the game run very slowly in single core mode. 1 FPS at 100% on the VPS. The game runs full speed in dual core mode.
The long videos when starting the game are not skippable.
When it eventually does get in-game the gameplay runs at full speed.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Boot the game.
After the Safety Screen all videos in the game will run at at 1 FPS.

The master branch 3.5-608 ran full speed on single core.
The FIFO-BP branch introduced this issue in 3.5-644 on single core.

FIFO-BP-3.5-433 and previous run at full speed on single core.
FIFO-BP-3.5-434 and all builds since runs slow on single core.
