Emulator Issues #13030
openDSU Client - Default gamepad name is blank and confusing
0%
Description
Hello.
Win10 22H2
Using DS4windows.
Development build 5.0-17243
My problem is that Client has no name.
It shows as Device = DSUClient/0/
I tried emulating both as dualshock v1 and as xbox. Both appear as that. No name.
Tested Dualshock V2
Now ordinarily that is not major problem. Unless one attempts to use DynamicInputTextures
They require a name in client in order to make a difference.
SDL has name but i cant use SDL because it's too , what's the word.."wiggly" , "sharp" ? it wiggles too much, its too precise, abysmal small hand shaking would result in gyro movement and it would result in literal "shaking" in game.
DS4windows as server has smoothing which totally removes the issue.
So , any chance of getting "name" for client?
Thanks

P.S
As it turns out i can't even use SDL from emulated dualshock as dualshock because there is no rumble under WGInput. I mean there is , but none of them are working. Maybe issue with vgem bus.
Anyway , emulating as XBOX 360 + DSU / WGInput rumble works and DSU for motion. But that one doesn't have SDL
So a name for DSU client would really be nice!

Hmm. I have to apologize. I think this one was "user" error.
You see, when adding "alternate input sources" one is prompted with Description Server IP and Server Port
Since both bottom options are filled by default I automatically ignored "description".
Thus causing the problem for my self and this.
Description is what is making a new name for recognition.
So , maybe just a small line of change in description to clarify that to a user and or even adding some default name, instead of making it blank?
Thanks.

P.S
Maybe a drop down menu with currently "known" available options for virtual gamepads?
DualShock4
BetterJoy
etc?
That would be perfect, actually!
