Description
Recently, I have noticed that since PCSX2 added a 'sync to host refresh rate' option to their emulator, that Dolphin desperately needs this too. This feature took away every little hiccup I used to experience playing PS2 games within PCSX2. The frequent/periodical hitching and stuttering people refer to in games that otherwise are at full speed is when the display is at let's say 60.02hz and the game at 59.94. This will cause a dropped frame intermittently. I had this problem until this magical option was added to PCSX2, it is a game changer. Using a 12700K and RTX 3090, I knew hardware was not the issue. If you use Dolphin within retroarch, there is an option to 'use display reported refresh rate' under retroarch's own video settings, so that the software forces vsync at your refresh rate. Dolphin runs without any stutters whatsoever with this. The standalone emulator has a minor stutter every 20-40 seconds. Those who are not sensitive to this wouldn't notice. If we were using TV's, this would not be an issue, but monitors all have slightly varying refresh rates. Mine is 60.02, my friends is 59.88, my last one was 59.981, despite saying 60hz in display settings. Could we please have this feature added as then the stutters would disappear, no matter which monitor you are using. Thank you.
