Ambient sounds (fire, running water, chickens, etc.) are blaringly loud. Not present in PCSX2.
Footage: https://youtu.be/yCo-wMTR5oY?t=60 (Not me; has been present at least since 4.0-2697)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Load either the tutorial level or Rodeo Rise, e.g. Quick play > Rodeo Rise > Challenges.

Yes 5.0-18017

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

Yes 5.0

If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)

If your issue is a graphical issue, please attach screenshots and record a three frame fifolog of the issue if possible. Screenshots showing what it is supposed to look like from either console or older builds of Dolphin will help too. For more information on how to use the fifoplayer, please check here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer

Is it possible that the GameCube version wasn't just improperly programmed? It not being present in PCSX2 or PS2 means nothing if it happens on GameCube.

This longplay seems to have reasonable audio at least for the chickens (though music is disabled, maybe for copyright reasons, and the barn isn't on fire).

Does switching to LLE Audio fix it?

Yes, choosing either LLE engine seems to fix it. Tutorial level and Rodeo Rise both have proper sound levels.

  • Subject changed from Freestyle Metal X - Ambient sounds blaringly loud to HLE Audio: Freestyle Metal X - Ambient sounds blaringly loud
  • Status changed from New to Accepted

That's a bug or unimplemented feature in our HLE audio implementation then.
