Description

Game Name?

Wii Menu

Game ID? (right click the game in the game list, Properties, Info tab)

0000000100000002

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

In an older thread discussing this (https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/12368), someone said that "We can revisit this later if WC24 is implemented." and now that RiiConnect24 support is now built into Dolphin, I'm suggesting that we could review this.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Launch the Wii Menu. Go to Wii Settings. Set Standby mode for Wiiconnect24 to On, for it is usually Off. Exit out of the Wii Menu, and go back into it, and it will be Off again.

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

You want to keep Dolphin running while a game isn't running, just to emulate internet features that are done way better on the very device you're running Dolphin on? Well ok then.

If someone wants to implement this, they'll have some a high UX bar to clear. But it is something the Wii can do that we can't, so, I can't really reject it outright.

If we know how to turn it off at shut down, do we also know how to turn it on at startup?

Dolphin is now no longer disabling standby mode automatically.

(Dolphin still doesn't have a way to fetch WiiConnect24 content when emulation isn't running, but that isn't what the issue reporter requested.)
