Description

Game Name?

NERF N-Strike

Game ID? (right click the game in the game list, Properties, Info tab)

RNKP69

MD5 Hash? (right click the game in the game list, Properties, Verify tab, Verify Integrity button)

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

The game fails to start, producing a GPU opcode error on boot. I've gone into the Verify menu and checked that the problem isn't that my rip is bad. I've also tried turning off dual core but that doesn't fix the issue either.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Launch the game in Dolphin

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

5.0-20395

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

N/A

If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)

[First broken version number here (if applicable)]

If your issue is a graphical issue, please attach screenshots and record a three frame fifolog of the issue if possible. Screenshots showing what it is supposed to look like from either console or older builds of Dolphin will help too. For more information on how to use the fifoplayer, please check here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer

[Attach any fifologs if possible, write a description of fifologs and screenshots here to assist people unfamiliar with the game.]

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

Linux Mint 21.2 (64-bit), running an Intel i7-1165G7 with Intel TigerLake-LP GT2 [Iris Xe Graphics]

Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files, savefiles, savestates)

I've just realized that I forgot to add the MD5 hash for the game. The hash is 7bb2cbc5e1614a288cb6d4da2e3d3aa4. By the way, the error is a GFX FIFO opcode error and not a GPU opcode error. Just by looking at the logs, it seems that the root error for this is a blank Missing OGL Extensions warning that is printed out to the log three times before the opcode errors start rolling in. Said video log is attached.

*Fixed (ish). I used a workaround which I posted on the game's forum thread (https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-wii-nerf-n-strike).

Have you tried just turning off Dual Core? Usually FIFO errors are solved by doing that.

Also, the "missing OGL extensions" messages are unrelated and can be safely ignored.

Hi! The unknown opcode still shows up even without dual core enabled. I did the following to get the game into a working state:

  • Run the game with write-back cache on a single core
  • Save state at the Wii Strap screen
  • Return everything to stock settings
  • Run the game from the save state created previously

At this point, the game runs just fine.
