Description

Game Name?

Any game that has a savestate created, it doesn't matter which, just tested Pac-Man World 3

Game ID? (right click the game in the game list, Properties, Info tab)

GP8EAF

MD5 Hash? (right click the game in the game list, Properties, Verify tab, Verify Integrity button)

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

On Dolphin 5.0.21017 onwards, launching a game, then making a save state and finally trying to stop emulation, the dialog that will ask the user if he/she wants to stop emulation will appear blank and cause Dolphin to crash. Additionally, launching any game that has a savestate will also make the emulation window to hang, causing Dolphin to crash. This won't occur if the game hasn't a savestate as long as one is not created for that game.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Launch Dolphin > Launch any game without a save state > Create a save state > Stop Emulation (Such as by pressing ALT+F4 or Esc in the emulation window) > A blank exit emulation confirmation dialog appears > Dolphin Crashes

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

Yes, 5.0-21543

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

No, 5.0

If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)

5.0-21017 for Developer Version (5.0-21011 works fine)
5.0-21088 for Beta Version (5.0-20347 works fine)

If your issue is a graphical issue, please attach screenshots and record a three frame fifolog of the issue if possible. Screenshots showing what it is supposed to look like from either console or older builds of Dolphin will help too. For more information on how to use the fifoplayer, please check here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer

  • Regression start set to 5.0-21017

5.0-21017 sounds like a reasonable version for something like this to have started in, but I can't reproduce it myself. I suspect additional settings matter (e.g. fullscreen and/or the graphics backend and/or dual core). Can you upload Dolphin Emulator\Config\Dolphin.ini and Dolphin Emulator\Config\GFX.ini? (Note that Dolphin.ini contains your Windows username in various paths; feel free to delete those lines and the analytics lines as they probably aren't relevant).

Hmm, I'm still not able to reproduce the issue. (I've been testing with Super Mario Sunshine.)

Can you reproduce this issue if you set the time format to 12-hour Greek format that I use on my device? i.e. 07:30 μ.μ. Because this might be related to time format setting issues.

If you enable Config->Interface->"Use Panic Handlers" and try the reproduction steps does it show an error message? If not, try it with Config->Interface->"Confirm on Stop" disabled.

I have good news on this. This issue can be avoided by either changing the date and time settings to use the 24-hour time format or setting the language for the time to English though it would be great to have it not happen while using 12-hour format and Greek Language at once.
