What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

Attempt to perform a connection test. It succeeds just fines. However, some moments later it will pop up a "The system files are corrupted" message. This doesn't seem to have any long lasting consequences, as restarting emulation boots up the Wii system menu just fine.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Make a portable Dolphin build (to avoid any previous NAND install from mucking things).
  2. Do a Online System Update with Dolphin's Tool Menu to acquire a fresh System Menu. For reference I'm just using the United States option.
  3. Do system setup.
  4. Do connection test in Wii System Settings.
  5. Wait a little while after it succeeds. You will get a "The system files are corrupted" message.

I don't know if this occurs with an imported NAND dump rather than a default NAND.

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

Yes, 5.0-21646

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

It appears in the latest beta (5.0-21460).

Dolphin 5.0 does not have an Online System Update option in the Tools menu.

If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)

5.0-21103 seems to be the first version with this particular issue

If your issue is a graphical issue, please attach screenshots and record a three frame fifolog of the issue if possible. Screenshots showing what it is supposed to look like from either console or older builds of Dolphin will help too. For more information on how to use the fifoplayer, please check here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer
