What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

During what the game calls "Echo Photos" (taking a picture of a ghost) and "Echo Messages" (getting to specific spots) normally the game kinda looks like a camera flash, see this as an example (at 19:20 or 20:38 for example): https://youtu.be/n-EFY0nzzbI?si=NqucFnFh_A1zRZtm&t=1160

  • With "Store EFB Copies to Texture Only" ON (default) the screen goes dark after the flash effect instead of being transparent. See "sh_store_on.mp4".
  • When turning "Store EFB Copies to Texture Only" OFF but leaving "Defer EFB Copies to RAM" ON (default) there's a big white "block" appearing at the top of the screen. See "sh_store_off_defer_on.mp4".
  • When turning both "Store EFB Copies to Texture Only" and "Defer EFB Copies to RAM" OFF it appears normal, or at least I personally can't spot anything wrong. See "sh_store_and_defer_off.mp4".

By default (i.e. with "Store EFB Copies to Texture Only" ON) the game is pretty broken: there are the issues mentionned on the Wiki but also the flashlight is misaligned, making the game almost unplayable. See the attached flashlight screenshots, you'll see how low I have to aim to light the same part of the building (playing with a real Wiimote if it matters)!

The wiki recommend turning OFF "Store EFB Copies to Texture Only" but doesn't mention the "Echo Photos/Messages" glitches and doesn't recommend turning OFF "Defer EFB Copies to RAM". Note that for the defer option I noticed it fixes this specific issue but I'm only at the very beginning of the game so I have no idea if it breaks anything later on :/

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Import and load the save attached, when controlling the character go to the left, press D-Pad Right to use your camera and take a picture of the ghost.
