Description

There seems to be a bug in the Dolphin Analytics on Android (or some server-side handling of it).

The oddity can be seen here: https://mon.dolphin-emu.org/d/000000003/analytics?orgId=1&from=1684154058659&to=1685186873605&var-os=windows&var-os=android

It seems like, around 5.0-19368 release, dolphin either gained a lot of android clients which only start the emulator (and don't start any game), or some bug appeared which causes android clients to over-report emulator starts. Possibly, the app thinks it gets the "startup" event, when from the users' point of view, the app has not been restarted (due to power/memory saving or something). The same effect happens to the time of filing this report - there are more "emulator started" events than "game started", which is quite odd.

Also notable is that a similar spike seemed to happen back around november 12 2022: https://mon.dolphin-emu.org/d/000000003/analytics?orgId=1&from=1664607600000&to=1685689199000&var-os=windows&var-os=android , on a different version of dolphin.

I attached some charts which I think show the event more clearly than the grafana page. You can see, the android "starts per minute" abruptly increased 2x, and this aligns exactly with when "emulator start" events start exceeding the "game start" events.
