What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

When you start a new game or continue a saved game and start playing (when you have control of the character), the Wiimote pointer can longer access the bottom 20% of the screen, even if you hit the Wiimote home button to access the Wii menu overlay

What steps will reproduce the problem?

start a new game or continue a saved game, try to point the Wii pointer at the bottom of the screen

I don't know, I'm using the release

yes, 2412

If the issue isn't present in the latest release, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)

at least since 2409, maybe long before

Try adjusting the Total Pitch and Vertical Offset settings.

ok, how do I do that? I also want to point out that the pointer works fine in the main menu, until the moment you start the game and control the character

In the Motion Simulation tab of the Emulated Wii Remote configuration.

Closing due to lack of response. Note that we're normally open to reopening issue reports if a response is received later, but for this specific issue, it seems more likely to be a support issue than a bug. Do comment if you still have the issue after adjusting the relevant settings, though.

thanks, it works now, but I was using the default settings when the issue was originally occurring. Maybe the defaults should be changed? Also, would it be considered a bug that the behavior changed from before controlling the player character to after having control of him?

default settings I was originally using:
Vertical Offset: 10cm
Total Pitch: 20°

settings changed to:
Vertical Offset: 0cm (centers the issue so that now 10% of the top and 10% of the bottom are inaccessible)
Total Pitch: 25° (fixes the issue)

I have also played other Wii games using the mouse pointer and not had this issue.

The proper settings depend on the game, so we unfortunately can't provide a default that works great with every game.

Also, would it be considered a bug that the behavior changed from before controlling the player character to after having control of him?

No, I have no reason to believe that that's a bug. Some games simply behave like this.
