Emulator Issues #13712
openBlurry Fullscreen mode on macOS
0%
Description
Hey there.
I just downloaded the ARM/Metal version of Dolphin for macOS and I ran into a typical apple issue: the Fullscreen implementation of the macOS Dolphin app is not on par with Windows' Exclusive Fullscreen option.
macOS inevitably resamples the image, causing it to look blurry.
The [Display] FullscreenDisplayRes=x option in the .ini file does nothing to fix this (it doesn't seem to work at all).
I attached two images depicting the issue.
“Sharp.png” is taken using Dolphin's ScreenShot feature at the internal native XFB resolution. This is what the fullscreen output should look like.
“Blurry.png” is a macOS fullscreen capture. This is how Fullscreen currently behaves.
The game is Super Mario Sunshine running at 1xIR using the integer scaling shader included with Dolphin because it's the only way I could get an “internal” (prior to macOS resampling) 1:1 PAR (pixel aspect ratio).
I apologize if this is user error, but I couldn't find a solution to this problem even when looking online.
