Riivolution Mods Crash When Retroachievements Hardcore Mode is enabled

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.
When Retroachievements are on and you activate a JSON file mod from the menu, Riivolution mods will crash and if you click okay, It will freeze the window and refuse to close, rendering accessing desktop impossible unless you restart. Clicking ignore for this session will just result in a black screen, and you can quit out.
However, the bug DOES NOT OCCUR if you play the unmodded game first. Very strange.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
Activate retro achievements
Play a mod preset Json file WITHOUT playing the unmodded version first during your play session.
I assume small controller mods don't count. I've encountered this bug with Newer Super Mario Bros. And Mario's Last Adventure Wii riivolution mods

Whelp, eliminating this hardcore mode test makes the mods work.
