[Yes. v2509-558]
Is the issue present in the latest release? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest release.
[Yes]
If the issue isn't present in the latest release, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)
[Been broken for at least 4 years or more.]
If your issue is a graphical issue, please attach screenshots and record a three frame fifolog of the issue if possible. Screenshots showing what it is supposed to look like from either console or older builds of Dolphin will help too. For more information on how to use the fifoplayer, please check here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer
[Attach any fifologs if possible, write a description of fifologs and screenshots here to assist people unfamiliar with the game.]

Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files, savefiles, savestates)
[I have verified the integrity of the game and no save states have been used. Only native in game saving. I have also tested both DSP LLE modes.]

The menu music stops here right after I choose "Continue".
It's a bit abrupt, but are you sure it's not the proper behavior?
Or are you talking about some other music?
Updated by gregsplace 6 months ago
No the ingame music when swinging around the game world.

I'm seeing a lot of gameplay videos where there's only music in the game world when there is also a fight going on or whatever.
It seems accurate to me?

It is not correct behavior. Please watch my video and the youtube video for a better understanding. In my video on google drive I'm showing the game booting up the same location across all ports. You can see in my video dolphin is the only one that never even starts playing the music track when swinging around the city. Even getting into a fight with thugs music never plays. In fact on real gamecube hardware shown in the youtube video it's actually the opposite. The Youtube video clearly shows music is already playing. It's when the player starts a mission specifically to take down thugs and criminals does the music go silent. For the youtube video watch from 20:20 up until 21:03 when the player selects the mission. Also download my save file and boot it. Yes I have erased the save and started fresh to test if the file was broken.

I see that the music plays in the other ports of the game, but do we know what the situation is on the real GameCube?
That youtube video is of real hardware I think?
It unfortunately doesn't show the exact same part of the game, but the music behavior seems similar in Dolphin?
e.g. At 23:30 there's a fight without any music. It seems janky in general.
Maybe the GameCube port is just bugged?

It's possible. Hopefully someone else could shed some more light on this.

I guess I was assuming it was an emulation quirk but maybe this version is just jank. I apologize in advance if it ends up being the case.

I did more testing with the PS2, Xbox and PC version. I started a new game with each and got to the exact spot where my gamecube save was made. The music track is silent initially but only for about a minute or two then it eventually starts. The GameCube is the only version that never eventually starts from that exact point.

I bought real hardware used and tested the game finally! I can confirm that this is not the correct behavior. I created two save points on dolphin and then created the same exact save points on real hardware and loaded the files. The audio behaves exactly like the other ports of the game. It always starts playing when loading into the game. If there is a point where you complete a mission and the audio is silent it will eventually play just sitting idle unlike dolphin the audio never starts.

Yeah so the behavior is the same on my Wii and this GameCube.

Meaning the audio loop plays in areas where dolphin does not loop.
