Emulator Issues #13978
open[FEATURE REQUEST]: An option for OSD/RA overlay/messages to stay within the game window itself using (borderless) fullscreen
0%
Description
I would like to request an option to restrict HUD/OSD/whatever-its-called elements and overlays so that they remain within the game window itself, rather than extending beyond the black borders.
I typically use fullscreen or borderless fullscreen with RetroAchievements enabled. One issue I’ve noticed is that certain HUD elements or overlays in Dolphin can appear outside the actual game image area, which creates a slight visual inconsistency for me.
While playing in windowed mode with auto-resize enabled is an alternative, on my 1080p monitor the window does not extend beyond the taskbar and creates black borders. I understand this may be related to monitor behavior, but I hope this clarifies the situation.
Having an option to confine all overlays strictly within the active game image would greatly improve visual consistency and overall presentation. I would really appreciate consideration of this feature. Thank you for your time and continued development efforts.

(Note: You can kind off mimic the solution of this feature request on your own by playing in windowed mode and resizing the window manually or enabling the auto size window based off internal resolution, playing 1 resolution size below your monitor/TV's native resolution, and then cranking the resolution back to your screens resolution. I personally ain't a fan of doing that myself)
