Emulator Issues #1553
closedFramedumping with OGL doesn't preserve original aspect ratio
0%
Description
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Start a Gamecube or Wii game
- Start framedumping
- Stop emulation and play the video back
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The outputted video is supposed to match the game's aspect ratio. Instead,
it it always larger than it should be.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
SVN R 4417 WinXP Pro MCE x86
Please provide any additional information below.
This happens with both Gamecube and Wii games. The 4:3 and 16:9 checkboxes
in GFX config don't fix the problem.

The output buffer is always 640x480, it's just stretched to create a different
aspect ratio. I'm a bit surprised that running the emulator at a widescreen
resolution wouldn't fix the problem, though. We either need to make sure it works
with widescreen resolutions properly, or set the appropriate AVI header bits for
nonsquare pixels.

The problem still occurs with the ector's new aspect ratio commit, but this time I'm
thinking it's the actual video mode with the wrong ratio and not the dumping
utility. Or it could be both. All modes have the wrong aspect ratio in the output
videos.

Is this still the case? You said your other Issue 1552 was resolved, so what about this one?

With R5844 enabling the framedumper with OGL crashes Dolphin immediately, no matter how my graphics options are configured.
