Emulator Issues #1758
closedThe game's cursor disappears while playing the game
0%
Description
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Play "Tales of Symphonia - Dawn of The New World" WII PAL
(Probably other games) - Use the Emulated wiimote (with x360pad) or the Real wiimote
- After 15/20/30 minutes of play (Unspecified time..after you play for a
while), when you finish a conversation or an interlude or when you change
location or after a battle over.
What is the expected output?
The game's cursor should always remain visible, except in the interlude
movies and in the sketchs.
What do you see instead?
The game's cursor instead disappears making impossible to continue the game
at some points (sorcerer's ring unusable). The only way to continue is to
save a little earlier than you should use the sorcerer's ring, reload the
game and load the last save.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Tested with Dolphin svn 4641, 4642, 4645, 4648, 4651, 4654, 4655, 4657, x86
versions on Windows 7 x86.
DirectX Aug 2009.
Nvidia 9600 GT - Nvidia Driver Version 195.62.
CPU Intel Q9650 - 4GB Ram ddr3.
Please provide any additional information below.
The problem manifests using OpenGL or DirectX plugin, HLE or LLE plugin.
Tested enabling/disabling the possible choices in the dolphin's
configuration except the interpreter engine.
If you click "home" after the game's cursor is gone, the Wiimote (emu/real)
result uncharged and will be impossible to return to the game.
For Other details. Free to ask.
!? Solution might be to force a regular monitoring of the battery (to
ensure always charged), this for the emulated wiimote.
I don't know where to put eyes and hands. I really hope that some good dev
resolve this little problem that perhaps could also appear on other games.
A request out of this problem: is possible to put mouse movement in
joypad's analog2?
dolphin's devs community. To you.
:P

Can you reproduce this issue in other games?

Tested with emu wiimote rev 4657.
In Super Mario Galaxy, another game where you use the Wiimote + Nunchuk + game's
cursor, the cursor doesn't seem to disappear (I played half an hour), but pressing
home after a few minutes, the Wiimote result uncharged, but here you can return to game.
In New Super Mario Bros Wii, a game where i use wiimote + nunchuk (here no game's
cursor), the wiimote's battery remain always charged after one or two hours of play.
In Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles the cursor stays on screen (locked) and the
game continues but no button works, not even home, as if the wiimote is off or been
disconnected.
Maybe every game has different needs regarding the consumption of energy even if
virtual?!

I'm getting the same thing with Tales of symphonia Dawn of the new world ntsc
version. with the recent revs. ofcourse if you have panic handler on you get the ipc
error.

As soon as I can I try all the games with panic handler activated and I write here
immediately. After h 22.00, +1 time zone.
@btja...@gmail.com: maybe you do first, to cause the error quickly enter and exit
the menu of the game for 15 times (+ button).

this error message:
"IPC CommandDisconect: WiiMote Emulation is out of sync.
This message will be shot one time only, because Dolphin Does
not execute the disconect at all and sometimes you can keep
playing anyways. Your strong recommended to save the game
and or restart the emulation."
