Alt-tabbing out of fullscreen crashes the emulator

Description
What steps will reproduce the problem?
This has been going for a few hundred revisions, started about the time
when switching between windowed <-> fullscreen caused crash, this doesn't
seem quite fixed either so they're likely related. Anyway this makes it
impossible to change most settings as you play (in fullscreen)
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Specs: Core2Duo E8400 3,0 Ghz;
4Gb RAM; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260;
WinVista 32-Bit/Win7 64-Bit

Yes. :)
Opengl works as intended, but it is still unstable when closing the rendering window
sometimes or launching another game after playing one.
Anyway, with DX, alt+enter kills the emu when it just needs to revert to windowed
from full.Been like this for a looooooong time now - hopefully that can get fixed
back up and be like it used to!
