Description

One of the revisions from r4758 (not included) to r4769 cause the emulator to
hang for 5-10 seconds sometimes even more, the emulator sometimes resumes by
itself, sometimes it hangs indefinetly.

I'm unable to try this for a while.

Try the forums, see if someone can try it.

I don't have this issue at all. I need more info. When does it hang. what hardware are
you using? is it for some games or all games. ect.

No one else has this issue...at all. Got to be user specific. Find out what change
fixes it (emu, gfx driver panel, etc) and then maybe a fix can get implemented.
Otherwise, you're alone here.

Apparently neither of you read changelog comments, check r4790 log.
Everyone has this issue, and it's regardless of plugins used.

Affects Metroid Prime 2 above all games.

Looks like it only affects MP2. That's all i see confirmed other there. Maybe we
should open a new bug to be more clear and help its chances of getting fixed?

Actions #14

Rename this issue as you see fit.

If you enable "FIFO BP Hack" in the options for MP2, is this issue resolved?

Actions #16

Updated by federelli almost 15 years ago

I'll give it a try in a few seconds

Actions #17

Updated by federelli almost 15 years ago

Nop, hangs just as much, sometimes doesn't even boot.

Hmm that's a weird problem especially since it seems to be a user specific problem.
Oh yeah i know this is a bad place to ask this, federelli are you the federelli from
Emutalk if you are just wondering if we can use some of your OOT textures as a base
in the Community Retexture Project to help people out some people.

Has anyone else reported this at all?

Actions #19

Updated by federelli almost 15 years ago

Yes i'm the same, and yes you can but give proper credit please.

This is not user specific, the entire community, (check all dolphin forums and revision
comments), knows Metroid Prime 2 does not work anymore with the emulator after the BP
FIFO changes.

@federelli: I tested again and you are correct. I guess I wasn't testing long enough
before. FIFO BP Hack lets the game boot, but that's about it.

It should be noted that the "hang" actually deadlocks all of dolphin...fun...

Actions #21

Updated by federelli almost 15 years ago

Indeed, it most often results in a dolphin crash instead of just a recoverable hang.

can anyone confirm that r4759 caused this?

Actions #24

Is this still an issue with current revisions?

Things seem to be smoother now.
