closedProgressive Scan for Gamecube games?

Description
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- None, read below
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Dolphin SVN 4800 x64 - Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Please provide any additional information below.
I noticed that Dolphin has the ability to enable Progressive Scan for Wii
games. However (although I doubt it'll help improve anything in any way),
there is no ability to enable Progressive Scan for Gamecube games. Unless
I'm mistaken of course. Most, if not all, Gamecube games give the user the
choice to have Progressive Scan enabled upon the launch of the game. In
other words, the game provides the files to enable Progressive Mode itself.
The only way that Gamecube games can detect that Progressive Scan can be
enabled is when a component cable is connected, and possibly other cables
as well (?) except for Composite.
Again, I'm not sure if this will improve anything (performance, video,
etc). But the mentality of this report is "if the Dolphin can allow the Wii
to run in Progressive Scan, why can't wont it for the Gamecube?".
Thanks!

Oops, let me rephrase that:
"If Dolphin can allow Wii games to run in Progressive Scan, why can't it for Gamecube
games as well?"
Stupid spelling mistakes, :P.

Name some GC games that have this feature first.

Every game, I think. It should make mention of it on the back of the case the games
come in. I know that:
Sonic Adventure DX
Sonic Heroes
Shadow the Hedgehog
Sonic Gems Collection
Wind Waker
Phantasy Star Online
Pikmin (2)
I tried basically every Gamecube game on my Wii with a component cable and all of
them gave me the option to turn on Progressive Scan before the game loads the Company
logos, etc.

So I guess the interface of the option to turn on Progressive Scan is exactly the
same one even in different GC games? If so, that means it is the boot loader not the
game itself.

No, it's different in every game as well.

either Wind Waker of MKDD)

These are all the pictures I could find. But take my word for it, it's different in
every game.

Does Metroid Prime 1/2 support Progressive Scan?
Updated by ayuanx almost 15 years ago
- Status changed from New to Fixed
OK, don't brother, I just did some tests which show we have already supported
"Progressive Scan" for GC games.
Just hold down "B" button while booting and you will see :)
Updated by knuckles500 almost 15 years ago
Are you sure people are going to think to press the "B" button to get to the screen
everytime to launch the game? :\
Unless there's no difference between having the game run in Progressive Scan or not
in Dolphin, then if that's the case, forget it. :P

Of course there is a difference.
Try any revision before r4798 (since which progressive scan is supported), and you
can't even get that progressive scan option to show up.
