Emulator Issues #2246
closeduser definable escape key
0%
Description
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- recent build has made 'ESC' toggle between window and fullscreen
2.
3.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
most emulators that i run on my arcade cabinet use 'ESC' to exit the
emulator, which makes it easy to set a standard arcade control to exit the
emu and return to the front end. it would be great to be able to assign a
task to these common keys so that the user can set 'ESC' or any other key
they want, to exit the emu
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
5028, xp sp3

esc always go out of the game
alt-enter always switch modes
sounds good to me:)

thanks for accepting this! i just want to be clear when you say "esc always go out of
game". i'm requesting this for folks who have arcade cabinets where most emu's quit
when hitting esc, not just exit the game. this allows arcade cabinets to have an easy
exit, back to the front end. if you just make esc to go out of a game but still have
dolphin running, it will be running over the front end.
i hope that makes sense :)

you mean someone puts a computer away in a cabinet just for running dolphin?

I don't like this change, because not everyone is into what tony likes. I suggest
allowing the user to set which key does stop, pause, fullscreen switch, etc.

do not make esc quit the game its way to easy to catch by mistake when playing,
either make it user-definable or make it toggle between fullscreen and window mode.
there are more people out there that use the pc as a pc and not in an arcade cabinet.
