Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.open Dolphin
2.use D3D video plugin
3.launch Metroid Prime 1 or 2

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: Game launches and you are able to play

Output: both games start but almost immediately, dolphin freezes and
displays the warning:

"Warning" GFX FIFO: Unknown Opcode (ox5).

after pressing "ok" dolphin displays this:

"Warning" Illegal command 05, CPBase: oxoo54d920 (it lists about 15 similar
messages.)

after pressing "ok" a second time, these 2 warnings loop over and over
again and never end.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
SVN R-5003 and earlier

Windows Vista 64 bit + service pack 1, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650, Intel
Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz processor, Centrino 2 chipset,

Please provide any additional information below.

on another note, Dolphin used to be able to run metroid prime 1 almost
flawlessly and a very good speed (this was around revision 1000, 1500, or
so. i don't remember exactly. anyway, Dolphin is currently having allot of
trouble running Metroid Prime 1 at a decent speed. it's certainly MUCH
slower than it used to be.

metroid prime echoes does the exact same thing to me where as the last reference i
used which was 4731 i think, everything worked fine
and also metroid prime 1 runs very slow.. like about 60 - 70% where as before it ran
normal
ive tried other games too and they work fine.. its just metroid prime :S

They work for me all you need to do is set the FIFO BP hack to on in the iso
properties for each game (ie right click metroid prime and choose properties).

Yeah, Metroid Prime 2 will crash quickly without the FIFO BP hack, but both Metroid
Prime 1 and 2 seem to run at only 53-60% speed for me. They used to run about 20%
faster, though I can't recall which revision ran the best.

  • Status changed from New to Invalid

Turn on the FIFO BP hack to resolve the "GFX FIFO: Unknown Opcode" issue.

We are aware of the speed issue.

I can't find the option to enable/disable the FIFO BP Hack. Help would be appreciated Here is a screen shot of my computer:
