Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Launch the game
  2. Play a level

What is the expected output? What do you HEAR instead?
Expected: Smooth sound. Hearing crackling sound instead.

Dolphin version with the problem? Other Dolphin version without the
problem?
Tested with latest build: 5628

32-bit or 64-bit and any other build parameters?
Tested in 32 and 64 bit. Default parameters in VS2008, like I did with all
previous builds.

OS version and versions of tools/libraries used?
Windows 7 x64. Tested on 2 different hard drivers (both with Win 7 x64).

Please provide any additional information below.
The latests build I did without audio problems was 5474. In the early 55xx
builds, the issue was already here.
For those who don't trust me and think I am crazy, please hear the
attached recording (sorry, it's wma). Recorded from World 2-2.

Tested with OpenAL and DirectX => same issue. Tested with and without
audio throttle => same issue.
I don't think that it's my system or hardware, as there's no pb with
anything else.
This is not a low speed issue too: game runs at 100% speed.
Machine specs: C2D E8400, ATI HD5450, Win7 x64, X-Fi Soundcard.

Small update:
I tested on my MacBook on Windows 7 x86, and I have the same problem.
So this is not a computer-related problem.
If a setting has to be updated, I really don't know which one.

Update 2 : same issue with a bukld downloaded from dolphin-emulator.com :(
Maybe it has something to do with ector's recent changes in DSP (end of 54xx or early 55xx SVN).

Recapitulate :
3 different systems: (2x Win 7 x64, 1 Win 7 x86)
2 different computers: (self-made PC and a MacBook win Win 7 x86 on it)
2 builds: 32 and 64-bit
2 "builders" source: mine and dolphin-emu

=> This issue is real, not configuration-related.

Definitely. I've tested it on a pretty high end i7 build and there's audio crackling with various configurations.

"cwbw" has the same issue. He posted it on SVN 5754, but says that he has the problem since the 55xx builds.

Enabling "Use FPS for limiting" in Config dialog limited the sound issue, but didn't fix it totally.
