I've seen the same problem on my computer (Windows). So this seems not a OSX only problem.
I've problems too with the wiimote, so maybe the BT dongle or the wiimote are implicated.
Regards!

I have the same problem on Windows 7. Also the new wiimote plugin is not usable, because it slow downs the games generally by about 10-15 fps!

I have had this problem myself for ages now so i just turn rumble off usually. However, Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers does NOT have this problem at all the rumble goes off like a mad fiend and no slowdown in sight. I know I have at least 2 other games that are the same way rumble and no slow down. It seems that Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers uses FULL rumble at all times, as in the game just pulses the motor in the Wii-Mote and others like Mario Galaxy on the other hand seem to make the Wii-Mote use a slower speed at times. Maybe the problem could be part of how the REALWII vs dolphin do the rumble speed signals. I hope this helps cuz it would be nice to use regular rumble with all my Wii games. KEEP IT UP GUYS!!! DOLPHIN RULES!!!

Is this still an issue in the new plugin?

I had the same issue using the old wiimote plugin using Win7 x64. The new wiimote plugin doesnt seem to have this issue, but I have not tested extensivley.

I'm assuming this is only an issue in the old wiimote plugin.
The new wiimote plugin has both a read and write queue. (should eliminate delays caused by blocking functions)
